Henry All-Weather Big Boy in .44 magnum with side loading gate

 So after the tax season and getting a decent refund, and with our good old boy Joe Biden becoming president, I thought I would celebrate with a new gun purchase.  

I noticed recently that Henry released their All-Weather Big Boy with a side loading gate.  Here's a very brief video on that.

So I contacted my favorite gun store and range owner at Red Dot in Layton and asked if he could order one for me.  It took a little over a month, but I finally got it.  I did a bunch of switching scopes around, so that I could put my Leopold scope on it. And got all the extras ahead of time:

Leather Stock cover, leather lever loop wrap, and leather sling from Fiddleback Outpost.  I got the scope mount from Henry USA.  When I went to pick up the rifle I get 14 days of free use at the range.  I took the opportunity to sight in the scope at 25 yards.  Awesome.

The quality is exceptional.  I noticed the screws on the side were coming loose when went through the cleaning process.  This is often an issue with my other Henry. So you really need to monitor those screws and get them tightened down EVERY TIME.  I wouldn't recommend loctite on them though.  

Cleaning was just as easy as my other Big Boy.  The two wall mounts that I made for both Henry rifles is now complete.

The side loading gate really came in handy at the range today when I would take a couple shots, adjust the scope and take a few more shots to test the adjustments.  Loading it a couple at a time right there on the side is so awesome.  I never would have figured it was a feature I would appreciate, but after loading it that way for just a few rounds sure made reloading quick.

The cost for this came to $1,027 after tax.  Not a bad way to celebrate the government giving me back a portion of the money they took from me. I'd rather they quit spending so much and bring the tax deficit down, and quit printing money like there was no tomorrow.
