This 20 inch "Total Metal" 22 I couldn't resist considering it's the 2nd to cheapest gun I've ever purchased. There are lots of high reviews for it, and it's a new rifle offered by Rock Island Armory. I don't own any other RIA firearm, so I thought I'd give it a go. With the exceptionally low price, I felt OK to proceed getting it without having to get the thumbs up from Cathi. :)
I also was able to find a very affordable red dot for it from Amazon:
FEyachi Reflex red/green dot which comes with the ability to control not only the color/type of reticle, but is fairly low profile, and VERY affordable. Name any other red dot with those kind of features for less than $30 (after $10 coupon). The entire gun with red dot including shipping/tax/transfer from FFL fee came to less than $350. I don't own another 22 rifle that is as tactical as this one. My first 22 that I inherited from my Dad, is your typical 10/22 that is more of your hunting style rifle, and this one just seems much more modern, and actually more robust in that there isn't a scrap of plastic/polymer on this thing anywhere.The mags though are proprietary and I was looking to getting a 15 and 25 capacity magazine as well, but after shipping ($20 shipping really?) came to over $100. So I decided to just skip getting the extras. 2x10 rounders will have to do for now.
Once I get this in my hand and tested out at the range, I'll update this page...
