Walther PPQ 22 LR

I picked up the Walther PPQ 22lr from Denny at Red Dot in November 2016 during a Black Friday Sale for $400.  I thought it might make an excellent gun to train the kids on.  Full size gun, but in a 22lr platform.  The ergonomics are awesome.  Feels like a light full size Walther PPQ, but only shoots 22.  Very neat!

The grip is outstanding.  The trigger is fine, but the reset is terrible.  No audible or felt reset. It's like a ghost on that part.  I played with a laser on this, but I have had terrible luck with lasers malfunctioning, so I took it off and am back to the open sights on this gun.  

The sights aren't awesome, and this is NOT a competition pistol.  The barrel isn't nearly long enough to have any kind of significant accuracy beyond 7 yards.

It's definitely a plinker, and fun to shoot but with only 10 rounds in a magazine it's pathetic in that you spend way more time loading than shooting.  

It's fine for giving the kids some good practice with something that is light for the kids (or fearful wife) and recoil that is negligible.

Cleaning is easy, and the barrel is integrated with the lower.

I found that when assembling, that you need to make sure that the take down lever that slides down in front of the trigger.  When you reassemble, you need to make sure that is down and not back up when you reassemble or it won't fit.  You need to keep that lever down.  

It's a fine gun and all, but definitely one that I don't have much love for.  But the ergonomics are the best thing about this gun, and actually the reason, I purchased the Walther PPQ SC nearly a year later.
