Springfield Saint 'Free Floating Handguard' AR-15

I have been collecting firearms now for a little over a year, and still have not got an AR-15.  I wasn't into all the hype about the platform, and people were into building their own.  But when I saw this video by Sootch on the Springfield Saint.  I was convinced.  I liked that I could get the quality that is expected, without me having to mix and match to get the kind of quality I was looking for.

When I finally got to the point where I could get one, they came out with the Springfield Edge. But the Edge was a smaller version of the Saint.

In comparing the two, I realized I didn't want the smaller Edge as I didn't want to sacrifice accuracy for weight. So I went with the upgraded Saint with the Free floating barrel and a full-length MLok system along the top for any scope configuration.

In December 2017, I also purchased a DeadAir Suppressor and submitted the NFA Paperwork in anticipation of the purchase of this firearm.  Shooting an AR makes you really understand the hearing damage that can occur if it's fired without hearing protection.  Even with hearing protection, it can be exceptionally loud! So I made it a priority to obtain one for the safety of myself, and those around
me.

After shooting it inside at the Red Dot range, I realized the suppressor was totally the way to go.  The speed of the bullet from the muzzle is concussive and enough to make Cathi scream.

The optic I chose for this rifle was the Vortex Razor AMG UH-1 which I picked up for $450. This was one of the pricer optics I have purchased, but it is so neat!

Nothing on this gun needed an upgrade except for the muzzle break which I wanted to have a quick release with the suppressor so I have a quick mount for the suppressor from Dead Air. But that's it.
